Portrait of the practitioner

Kohei Ohara

Founder & Practitioner, Ohara Pelvic Alignment Studio

Licensed Anma-Massage-Shiatsu Practitioner (National Qualification, Japan)
Clinical experience: approx. 5 years (home-visit massage & bodywork)

I developed my clinical foundation through home-visit practice while refining an approach centered on pelvic alignment— integrating it thoughtfully into each session.

I am visually impaired. This has deepened my focus on precise, hands-on assessment—listening carefully to subtle changes in your body and providing calm, attentive care with clear explanations.

Clinical Experience

In home-visit settings, I have treated a wide range of concerns that can interfere with everyday life, including low back pain, knee discomfort, and shoulder pain.

Over time, I came to value a whole-body perspective—addressing not only where symptoms appear, but also the underlying balance of the body. By starting from the pelvis, I aim to reduce unnecessary strain and support more comfortable movement.

My Approach to Care

I prioritize understanding your overall condition rather than focusing only on the painful area.

Beginning with pelvic alignment, I assess posture, left–right differences, and movement patterns, then consider why stress is accumulating in a particular area.

My goal is not simply short-term relief, but a more stable, sustainable improvement—so you can move with greater ease in daily life.

About the Name “Ohara”

“Ohara” is my family name, and it is also inspired by the name of a character in a novel.

The idea of rebuilding one’s foundation and moving forward resonated with me. In the body, the pelvis is that foundation—when it is supported well, the body can express its natural strength and balance more fully.

That is the meaning behind the name of this studio.
